Garnet mapping (Fe)

A WDS Fe map of a grossular (Ca-Al garnet) from the Sierra Nevada. An euhedral hexagonal shaped garnet porphyroblast is hosted in carbonate matrix. The areas with brighter colors are diopside grains, both in the grossular interior and the matrix.
